Boat Patrol

Perhaps the most visible and well-known aspect of the Water Safety Patrol is its Boat Patrol. The Boat Patrol is made up of a fleet of 6 fully-equipped boats, manned by highly-qualified and well-trained crew members.

The Boat Patrol has three main responsibilities:

  1. Rescue Operations
  2. Enhancement of law enforcement through education
  3. Boater Assistance

The Boat Patrol is on duty from 9am to 9pm during the summer, and on-call for emergencies 24 hours a day. The first Patrol boat is launched in early May and taken out in late October. Crew members are certified in water rescue, first-aid, CPR and boat handling. The crew constantly trains throughout the season to prepare for all types of emergency or assistance situations.
